America Is Back, Will No Longer Be Woke: Trump's Big Congress Comeback
“March 5, 2025: Washington, D.C. – In his first address to Congress since his re-election victory, President Donald Trump declared that “America is back” and vowed to eliminate what he called the “tyranny” of diversity and inclusion programs. His speech, delivered before a joint session of Congress, marked a bold assertion of his administration’s priorities, including economic revival, immigration control, and a new tariff policy.
Trump emphasized that his administration would end diversity-driven hiring practices, ensuring that jobs in America would be based strictly on “skills and competence, not race or gender.”
“Our country will be woke no longer,” Trump stated to enthusiastic applause from Republican lawmakers. “Wokeness is trouble, wokeness is bad, it’s gone, and we feel so much better for it, don’t we?”
The president criticized the Biden administration for the highest inflation in 48 years and pledged a full-scale economic revival. He announced a major shift in U.S. trade policy, unveiling a new “reciprocal tariff” system.
“India, Mexico, Canada—many nations charge us far higher tariffs than we charge them. From April 2, reciprocal tariffs will kick in. Whatever they tax us, we will tax them,” Trump declared, triggering loud cheers from Republican lawmakers.
Experts have warned that this aggressive trade policy could increase inflation and slow down economic growth, but Trump downplayed concerns. “There will be a little disturbance, but we’re okay with that. It won’t be much,” he assured.

Turning his attention to law and order, Trump claimed that leftist policies had “turned our justice system upside down” by failing to prosecute repeat offenders. He pledged to restore “fair, equal, and impartial justice,” praising newly appointed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Chief Kash Patel for their efforts.
Trump reiterated his commitment to ending illegal immigration, stressing that border security was a top priority. He also claimed his administration was working “tirelessly” to bring an end to the ongoing Ukraine war, though he did not offer specific details.
A notable moment in the speech was Trump’s public acknowledgment of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who is now leading the Department of Government Efficiency. “Thank you, Elon. He’s working very hard,” Trump said, prompting Musk to stand up in the gallery as Republican lawmakers applauded.
While Republicans cheered Trump’s aggressive stance, Democrats were vocal in their opposition. Several members held up signs reading “False” during his speech, and Congressman Al Green was asked to leave after he heckled Trump and shook his walking stick at him.
With just under two months in office, Trump declared that his administration had “accomplished more in 43 days than most accomplish in four or eight years.” As the U.S. moves forward under his leadership, his address to Congress made it clear that his administration is focused on reasserting American strength, cracking down on progressive policies, and reshaping both domestic and international policies.
