
Another Plane Crash in U.S.: Pilot Killed as Small Plane Crashes into California Homes
May 4, 2025: Simi Valley, California — A tragic small-plane crash rocked a residential neighborhood in California’s Ventura County on Saturday afternoon, killing the pilot and damaging two homes. The incident occurred in the Wood Ranch community of Simi Valley, roughly 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the single-engine fixed-wing aircraft crashed between two houses, sparking a fire that quickly spread to the structures. Both homes suffered significant damage, but residents managed to evacuate safely and no civilian injuries were reported.

Thick smoke billowed from the scene as emergency crews rushed to contain the blaze. Around 40 firefighters responded swiftly and successfully extinguished the fire before launching into overhaul and salvage operations.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the pilot or determine the cause of the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has taken over the investigation and will examine the wreckage and other factors to determine what led to the incident.
