Comes a Day After Hudson River Helicopter Tragedy

This Florida crash follows on the heels of the Hudson River helicopter tragedy, which occurred just a day earlier in New York City. The helicopter crash claimed the lives of all six passengers, including Siemens Spain CEO Agustin Escobar, his wife, and three children.

The Bell 206 chopper, operated by NY Helicopter Tours, reportedly lost a rotor blade before plunging upside down into the water near Lower Manhattan. The NYPD, FDNY, and Port Authority responded to the crash within minutes, but were unable to save the lives onboard.

US President Donald Trump responded to the NYC crash on Truth Social, calling it a “terrible tragedy” and confirmed that Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy was overseeing the investigation.

Aviation Safety Under Spotlight

With two major air tragedies in as many days and a string of recent crashes across the US, concerns about aviation safety are mounting among travelers. Many have taken to social media expressing doubts about flying.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are expected to launch investigations into both incidents.
