New Delhi [India] : Union Minister Anurag Thakur slammed the Rajasthan government on Wednesday and said that in the last 5 years, over 2 lakh incidents of atrocities against women and 35,000 incidents of molestation were recorded in Rajasthan and Ashok Gehlot’s Congress government remained asleep.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “If there is any example of lawlessness where law and order have completely died, it is Rajasthan. In the last 5 years, over 2 lakh incidents of atrocities against women and 35,000 incidents of molestation were recorded in Rajasthan and Ashok Gehlot’s Congress government remained asleep.”
“But what has happened today shows that no one is afraid there. What has happened to Rajasthan? Rajasthan was once known for tourism, and today it has become the capital of crime…The time has come to bid farewell to the Rajasthan government.” he added.
This comes after a man was crushed to death with a tractor in Bayana town in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur District on Wednesday. The incident was caught on camera, and the video went viral on social media.
BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra on Wednesday also slammed the Gehlot govt over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and dared Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi to Adda village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district.
The BJP leader demanded Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi visit Bharatpur before addressing the rally and asked her to show courage and take a stand in the matter.
Sambit Patra further said that it is not just about the murder of one person; this is about the whole of Rajasthan; it is about all Congress-ruled states.
Priyanka Gandhi is in Rajasthan in the run-up to the state assembly polls.
The leader of the opposition Rajasthan Assembly and BJP leader Rajendra Rathore also commented on the Bharatpur incident.
He said, “There is no law and order in Bharatpur now. A farmer was mowed down using his own tractor there. There is no fear of law in the state now. Nothing can be more unfortunate than this. We will raise these issues in elections. Over these issues, the current government will be sent off.”
“A video is viral from Bayana, Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, where a person named Nirpat was murdered by running a tractor over him,” Patra said while addressing a press conference in the national capital.
Rajasthan is set to hold Assembly elections on November 25. The 200-member house will go to the polls in single-phase.
According to the Election Commission, the counting of votes will take place on December 3, coinciding with the other four states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
