This marks Rahman as the first major South Asian artist to publicly endorse Harris for the presidency.

The performance is set to be broadcast on the AAPI Victory Fund’s YouTube channel on October 13 at 8 PM ET (October 14 at 5:30 AM IST) and will also air on major South Asian networks like AVS and TV Asia.

Shekar Narasimhan, chairman of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Victory Fund, emphasized the significance of Rahman’s involvement, stating, “With this performance, AR Rahman has added his voice to a chorus of leaders and artists who are standing up for progress and representation in America.” He noted that the event transcends mere entertainment, calling it “a call to action for our communities to engage and vote for the future we want to see.”

The performance will showcase some of Rahman’s most beloved songs, interspersed with messages highlighting Kamala Harris’s candidacy and her commitment to the AAPI community.
