Egypt marks its return to the Un Certain Regard section after nine years with Morad Mostafa’s debut feature, “Aisha Can’t Fly Away.” The film delves into the life of a Sudanese caregiver navigating societal tensions in Cairo, reflecting the complexities of identity and migration.

Image Nation Abu Dhabi’s International Debut

Image Nation Abu Dhabi makes its first appearance in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard with “The Plague,” directed by Charlie Polinger and starring Joel Edgerton. Set in an all-boys water polo camp, the film explores themes of adolescence and psychological turmoil.

Palestinian Stories Spotlighted

“Once Upon a Time in Gaza,” directed by twin brothers Tarzan and Arab Nasser, presents a narrative set in 2007 Gaza, focusing on friendship and survival amidst conflict.
