Following Pakistan’s disappointing loss to India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, fans express frustration over poor batting, fielding, and failure to stop Virat Kohli’s match-winning century.

Islamabad [Pakistan], February 24: Pakistan’s heartbreaking defeat to India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has left fans disappointed and frustrated, with many demanding improvements in batting, bowling, and fielding after their team failed to defend a 241-run total at the Dubai International Stadium.

Virat Kohli’s flawless 100 off 111 balls* guided India to a four-wicket win, leaving Pakistan’s title hopes hanging by a thread.

“We Expected at Least 315, But They Couldn’t Even Reach 250”

Expressing disappointment, a Pakistan fan lamented the team’s lackluster performance, particularly their inability to set a competitive total or contain Kohli’s masterclass.

“We had a lot of hopes that our team would play well. We thought they would reach at least 315, but they did not even reach 250. Even if we lost, they should have at least stopped Kohli’s century,” the fan said.

Another frustrated supporter called for fresh talent, urging the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to introduce new faces.

“If they could not bat well, they could have at least saved the match by bowling properly. I request the PCB to give chances to new players so that our team may improve,” the fan added.

“Poor Fielding Cost Us the Match”

Many fans also criticized Pakistan’s sloppy fielding, stating that better training and accountability were needed.

“The performance was very poor, even in fielding. They should undergo better training, and there should be some accountability for playing with the sentiments of the people,” another fan remarked.

Match Recap: Kohli, Gill & Iyer Seal the Win for India

Pakistan, after opting to bat first, got off to a steady start, with Babar Azam (23) and Imam-ul-Haq (10) putting up 41 runs.

A 104-run stand between Mohammad Rizwan (46) and Saud Shakeel (62) provided stability, but slow scoring and middle-order struggles saw Pakistan bundled out for 241 in 49.4 overs.

Despite early setbacks in the chase, India’s batting depth proved too strong:

  • Shubman Gill (46) and Kohli stitched a crucial 69-run stand.
  • Kohli and Shreyas Iyer (56) built a match-winning 114-run partnership, ensuring India sealed the win with six wickets and 45 balls to spare.

With this victory, India is now on the verge of securing a semi-final spot, while Pakistan faces an uphill battle to stay in the tournament.
