May 11, 2025: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has issued a stark warning about ongoing state-sponsored human rights abuses in Balochistan, claiming that enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and systematic repression are escalating while Pakistan suppresses these realities through digital censorship and information control.
In a powerful post on the social media platform X, the BYC declared that social media has become one of the last lifelines for Baloch communities to document and share the atrocities they face in real time. According to the committee, this digital platform allows for immediate exposure of abuses, as global interest in the region continues to fade.
“Balochistan continues to suffer,” the post read. The committee added that the world’s apparent silence does not indicate peace, but rather reflects Pakistan’s effective silencing of dissenting voices. This, they said, is achieved through algorithmic suppression, political indifference, and manipulated narratives, which bury critical human rights issues beneath trending distractions.
The BYC highlighted the arbitrary detention of its key leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Shahjee, Bebagr Baloch, Gulzadi, and Beebow Baloch, calling their arrests part of a broader strategy to crush resistance and shield state violence from international scrutiny.
Over the past 48 hours alone, the BYC reports that dozens of Baloch individuals have been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces. Among them is 14-year-old Shareef Ullah, who was allegedly abducted without explanation. The committee also confirmed that two young men were killed in extrajudicial encounters, intensifying what it describes as an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.
The BYC urged journalists, activists, and global civil society to break the silence, stressing that the issue is no longer just regional—it is an ongoing genocide. Without immediate international attention and intervention, the committee warned, Pakistan will continue its campaign of repression with impunity.
They concluded with a call to action: amplify the voices of the oppressed, document the truth, and resist the erasure of human suffering from global discourse.
