Basant Panchami Amrit Snan Marks Grand Celebration at Maha Kumbh 2025
Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), February 4: The third and final ‘Amrit Snan’ of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 concluded peacefully on Basant Panchami, as a sea of devotees gathered at Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip in the sacred waters. With over 12.5 million pilgrims participating in the grand event by noon on Monday, the spiritual fervor reached its peak in the holy city of Prayagraj.
Ensuring the smooth conduct of the event, authorities deployed a multi-layered security system across the Maha Kumbh Mela grounds. A combined force of civil police, traffic police, women police, mounted police, fire brigade, PAC, STF, ATS, NSG commandos, and bomb disposal squads was stationed at key locations, including intersections, pontoon bridges, Akhara routes, and bathing ghats.
Additionally, water police and trained divers were positioned at the holy Sangam to ensure the safety of devotees. Special teams from SDRF, NDRF, and Flood Company monitored the area closely, ensuring a hassle-free bathing experience.
To enhance security and streamline crowd management, authorities installed CCTV cameras and drones throughout the Maha Kumbh Mela premises. The Integrated Command Control Center continuously monitored the site, with public announcements guiding devotees to follow safety protocols.
To facilitate smooth transportation and access, 36 designated parking zones were created, ensuring pilgrims had minimal walking distance to the bathing ghats.
Senior officials, including ADG Prayagraj Zone Bhanu Bhaskar, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, IG Prayagraj Zone Prem Gautam, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, DIG Vaibhav Krishna, Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand, and SSP Rajesh Dwivedi, personally oversaw the arrangements, patrolling the fairgrounds on horseback and monitoring the event in real time.
Adding to the divine atmosphere, the Uttar Pradesh government organized a flower shower on saints and seers gathered for the ‘Amrit Snan’ at Triveni Sangam, marking a special tribute to the revered occasion.
Devotees from across India and abroad expressed immense gratitude for the well-organized arrangements, allowing them to experience the Maha Kumbh’s spiritual essence without any disruptions.
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13, has already drawn millions of devotees from all corners of the world. With the event set to continue until February 26, it is expected to break previous attendance records, reaffirming its position as the largest spiritual gathering on Earth.
