BJP Unveils Second Manifesto for Delhi Polls, Promises Free Education and Welfare Schemes
New Delhi [India], January 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday unveiled the second installment of its manifesto, Sankalp Patra Part 2, for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5. BJP MP Anurag Thakur launched the document in the presence of senior party leaders from Delhi.
The manifesto highlights a range of promises, including free education for students in government institutions, welfare initiatives for auto-rickshaw drivers and domestic workers, and the establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged corruption during the AAP government’s tenure.
Anurag Thakur accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of providing shelter to Rohingya Muslims and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Delhi, alleging that this was done under the directions of AAP leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena.
The Delhi Assembly elections will see 70 seats up for grabs on February 5, with votes to be counted on February 8.
The BJP has sharpened its focus on addressing corruption, boosting welfare schemes, and improving healthcare. With the AAP having dominated the 2015 and 2020 elections, winning 67 and 62 seats respectively, the BJP aims to improve its performance after securing only three and eight seats in those elections.
