“Bloody Sh*t Show”: Omar Abdullah Slams Delhi Airport After Flight Diverted to Jaipur

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister called the Delhi Airport a “sh*t show” after being stranded on an IndiGo flight for hours due to congestion. Chaos was also reported at Jammu and Srinagar airports amid bad weather.

New Delhi, April 20:
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took to social media in frustration after his Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Srinagar was diverted to Jaipur late Saturday night due to “congestion” at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

Expressing his anger in a candid post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Abdullah wrote,

“Delhi airport is a bloody sh*t show (excuse my French but I’m in no mood to be polite)… 3 hours in the air after we left Jammu we get diverted to Jaipur & so here I am at 1 in the morning on the steps of the plane getting some fresh air.”

The Chief Minister also shared a selfie from the aircraft’s staircase while waiting at Jaipur Airport, where passengers were reportedly stranded on the tarmac for several hours.

He later confirmed in another post that he finally reached Delhi just after 3:00 AM.

Delhi Airport Issues Advisory
In response to multiple delays and diversions, Delhi Airport authorities issued a public advisory on Sunday morning, blaming “shifting wind patterns” for disrupted air traffic.

“Air traffic flow management measures for flight arrivals will be implemented today to ensure safe operations… We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused,” said the airport on X.

Chaos at Jammu and Srinagar Airports
Passengers at Jammu Airport also faced chaotic scenes as bad weather in Srinagar led to multiple cancellations and delays, affecting several connecting flights. Videos on social media showed crowded terminal spaces with passengers demanding clarity on accommodations and rebookings.

IndiGo and SpiceJet both issued advisories urging passengers to check their flight status and offered flexible rescheduling or refunds.

“Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will have smooth operations back on track as soon as the weather plays nice,” IndiGo stated.

With weather disturbances in Srinagar, wind-related delays in Delhi, and passenger unrest in Jammu, air travel across north India faced significant hurdles over the weekend. Authorities continue to monitor the situation while passengers are urged to stay in touch with airlines for real-time updates.
