BSNL 5G Offers High-Speed Internet Without SIM or Cables, Deets Inside

June 22, 2025: BSNL 5G– State-owned telecom giant BSNL has officially rolled out its Quantum 5G (Q-5G) service in Hyderabad, marking a significant push into the high-speed internet market traditionally dominated by private players like Jio and Airtel. The new service offers internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps at an affordable monthly rate of Rs 999, with a premium plan providing 300 Mbps at Rs 1,499.

Unlike conventional broadband or mobile internet plans, BSNL’s Q-5G uses a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution that requires no SIM cards, fiber optic cables, or technician visits. Instead, users get plug-and-play indoor routers that connect wirelessly to BSNL’s 5G towers, enabling quick and hassle-free installation.

Focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities

BSNL’s Q-5G is specially designed to cater to India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where fiber internet penetration remains low. By targeting these underserved regions, BSNL aims to bridge the digital divide and provide reliable high-speed connectivity to homes, offices, and small businesses.

“The technology is 100% India-developed, and devices are manufactured locally, underscoring BSNL’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat,” said a BSNL spokesperson.

Next Cities to Get Q-5G

Following the Hyderabad launch, BSNL plans to expand Q-5G services to Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Chandigarh, and Gwalior. These cities, particularly their suburban and rural outskirts, stand to benefit the most from this new wireless broadband offering.

Why Q-5G Matters

With no requirement for SIM cards or wired connections, the Quantum 5G service is expected to simplify internet access for remote offices, home-based entrepreneurs, educational institutions, and government offices. Its competitive pricing and easy installation could make it a strong contender in areas where private fiber networks have struggled to reach.

Industry experts view BSNL’s Q-5G rollout as a potential game-changer in India’s broadband landscape, especially as the demand for fast and affordable internet continues to surge across the country.
