Bus Carrying Mine Workers Plunges Into Ravine In Russia, 13 Dead, 20 Injured
July 21, 2025: A horrific accident in Russia far eastern Yakutia region early Monday morning claimed the lives of 13 mine workers and left 20 others injured. A bus transporting employees of the Denisovsky Mining and Processing Plant plunged 25 meters (82 feet) into a ravine after its driver reportedly lost control.
The incident occurred around 3:20 AM local time on an industrial road leading to the coal mining and processing plant. Images released by the local interior ministry showed the bus overturned next to a muddy pool of water, with its wheels facing upward. Another photo depicted a twisted metal barrier on the road above the crash site.
Investigators have launched a probe into criminal negligence regarding the incident. Industrial accidents are a recurring concern in Russia, with authorities frequently attributing them to lax safety standards.
Local authorities have declared Tuesday a day of mourning in the region to honor the victims of the tragic crash.
