Can PM Modi’s Trinidad Visit Spark a Global Yoga & Culture Wave?
July 3, 2025: Spiritual leader Swami Brahma Swarupananda expressed confidence that PM Modi’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago will have a powerful impact on the global promotion of Indian culture — especially in the areas of education, yoga, meditation, and Indian languages like Hindi and Sanskrit.
As PM Modi embarks on the second leg of his five-nation tour, following his stop in Ghana, Swami Swarupananda emphasized the cultural significance of the visit, stating it would also help advance science and Indian traditions globally.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi concluded his historic visit to Ghana — the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over 30 years — where he received a warm reception from the Indian diaspora and was conferred with Ghana’s highest civilian honour, The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana, by President John Mahama.
PM Modi called the honour a “matter of immense pride” and dedicated it to the youth of both nations, highlighting the shared cultural ties and friendship between India and Ghana.
He addressed Ghana’s Parliament, calling India-Ghana relations “sweeter than Sugar Loaf Pineapple,” and visited Nkrumah Memorial Park to pay tribute to Ghana’s founding President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
PM Modi’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago marks his first as Prime Minister, and the first at the Prime Ministerial level since 1999. He is expected to boost cultural, spiritual, and economic ties during his July 3–4 stay.
Following Trinidad, the Prime Minister will travel to Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, with a key stop in Brazil from July 5 to 8 for the 17th BRICS Summit 2025, before concluding with a state visit to Namibia.
