India’s Path to the Semi-Finals

Currently sitting atop Group A with four points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.647, India needs just one more win against New Zealand to secure a guaranteed spot in the semi-finals. A loss against New Zealand could make qualification dependent on NRR, leaving some room for uncertainty.

  1. Bangladesh Must Beat New Zealand – If New Zealand wins against Bangladesh, Pakistan will be eliminated.
  2. Pakistan Must Beat Bangladesh – Even if Bangladesh beats New Zealand, Pakistan must defeat Bangladesh in their final group match.
  3. NRR Battle Between Pakistan, Bangladesh & New Zealand – If Bangladesh wins against New Zealand and India beats New Zealand, three teams (Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand) will be tied at two points each. In that case, NRR will determine who advances.
