February 21, 2025: KL Rahul was awarded the fielder of the match for his exceptional performance behind the stumps during India’s opening match of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh, held at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.
Rahul’s brilliant fielding included three crucial catches, all behind the stumps. He took the wickets of Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, and Mushfiqur Rahim, playing a vital role in India’s victory. Along with Rahul, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli were also nominated for the fielder of the match, but it was Rahul’s sharp keeping that earned him the honor.

Mohammed Shami’s impressive five-wicket haul also stood out in India’s comprehensive six-wicket victory over Bangladesh.
