Champions Trophy: Shikhar Dhawan Appointed As Official Ambassador

February 12, 2025: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed the official Ambassador for the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a role that acknowledges his remarkable contributions to the tournament over the years. Dhawan, who has long been one of the most iconic players in the history of the Champions Trophy, will now help promote the spirit of this prestigious competition.

Known for his unmatched consistency, Dhawan has had an extraordinary impact on the Champions Trophy. He holds the record as India’s highest run-scorer in the competition and stands third overall, amassing a total of 701 runs across two editions, including three centuries. His remarkable performances have cemented his place in history, making him the only player to win two consecutive Golden Bats in the tournament’s history.

In the 2013 edition, Dhawan was not only named the Player of the Tournament, but he also became the tournament’s top scorer with his brilliant batting performances. His contributions to the Champions Trophy are celebrated as some of the most cherished moments in Indian cricket.

India’s campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will kick off on February 20 against Bangladesh in Dubai, followed by a high-octane match against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23, and a clash with New Zealand on March 2. The tournament promises to deliver some of the most electrifying cricket as the best teams in the world compete for glory.

The full squad for India’s Champions Trophy campaign is as follows: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohd. Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, and Varun Chakaravarthy.

Non-traveling substitutes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, and Shivam Dube will join the team in Dubai if required.
