Cricket Legends Hail 14-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi After Record-Breaking IPL Century

Vaibhav stuns the cricketing world with fastest IPL ton by an Indian and youngest T20 century ever; Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and others shower praise.

New Delhi, April 29:
Cricketing legends and fans alike are in awe of 14-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who etched his name into the history books by becoming the youngest-ever T20 centurion and the second-fastest century scorer in IPL history.

During a high-octane match against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Vaibhav smashed an extraordinary 101 off just 38 balls, reaching his century in a breathtaking 35 deliveries. His knock, featuring seven fours and 11 sixes at a staggering strike rate of 265.79, helped Rajasthan Royals chase down 210 runs in just 15.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar praised Vaibhav’s “fearless approach, bat speed, and ability to pick length early.”
“End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!,” Tendulkar wrote on X.

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav posted, “Witnessed this carnage of an innings by this youngster. Absolutely insane!”

Former RR star and ex-Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan, whose record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian (37 balls) was broken by Vaibhav, congratulated him warmly:
“Even more special to see it happen while playing for @rajasthanroyals, just like I did. Long way to go, champ!”

World Cup-winner Yuvraj Singh added,
“This kid is taking on the best bowlers in the world without blinking an eyelid! Vaibhav Suryavanshi — remember the name!”

Ian Bishop and Kris Srikkanth also hailed Vaibhav’s composure and raw talent, calling him the next big thing in Indian cricket.

The match saw Vaibhav and Yashasvi Jaiswal (70* off 40) forge a record-breaking 166-run partnership — the highest for any wicket in Rajasthan Royals’ history — as they dominated Gujarat’s bowling attack. Riyan Parag’s quickfire 32* sealed the victory.

Vaibhav, signed by RR for ₹1.1 crore at the last IPL mega-auction, continues to astonish fans with his maturity. Having already made a first-class debut for Bihar at just 12 years old, and starring for India U19, his rise has been nothing short of meteoric.

After three IPL matches, Vaibhav has already amassed 151 runs at an average of 75.50 and a jaw-dropping strike rate of 222.05.

Meanwhile, the match result leaves Rajasthan Royals at the 8th position with three wins from 10 matches, while Gujarat Titans hold the third spot with six victories.
