CRPF personnel injured in blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Sukma (Chhattisgarh) [India]: One paramilitary personnel has sustained minor injuries in a blast triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device along Kamarguda-Jagargunda road in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, officials said.

According to Inspector General Bastar P Sundarraj, the injured security personnel is an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the 231 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

“The treatment of the injured ASI is underway and no major injuries have occurred to anyone else,” IG Sundarraj added.

Earlier on September 5, two Naxalites were killed in an encounter with police personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, officials said.

A Joint operation was conducted by the District Reserve Group (DRG) Sukma and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 223 Corps.

A 12-bore double barrel rifle and 1 pistol were recovered from the spot.
