According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression moved north-northwestward at a speed of 3 kmph over the past six hours and is projected to intensify further.

At 5:30 PM IST on November 27, the depression was located:

  • 100 km east-northeast of Trincomalee
  • 320 km southeast of Nagappattinam
  • 420 km southeast of Puducherry
