The highly anticipated action-thriller Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, witnessed a steady but modest climb during its first Saturday at the box office. After hitting theaters on Friday, April 10, the film earned approximately ₹7 crore net on its second day across 3,734 shows.

This brings the total domestic net collection to ₹13.55 crore, with the India gross standing at ₹15.81 crore. While the growth is positive, the film’s overall pace is being described as average given its massive scale.
On the global front, Dacoit has managed to find a decent footing. International markets contributed roughly ₹2.50 crore on Day 2, pushing the total overseas gross to ₹9 crore. When combined with domestic earnings, the film’s worldwide gross collection currently stands at ₹24.81 crore. Despite the pan-India appeal of its lead stars, the film is struggling to achieve the breakout numbers typically expected from a high-budget actioner.
A significant hurdle for Dacoit in the North Indian belt is the continued dominance of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Despite being in its fourth week, Dhurandhar raked in a staggering ₹13.50 crore on its 24th day—nearly double what Dacoit earned on its second day. With a reported production budget between ₹80 to ₹100 crore, Dacoit required a much more explosive opening to secure its financial trajectory.
The film’s momentum has also been hampered by a wave of mixed-to-negative reviews. Critics have pointed toward a convoluted screenplay with “endless plots and subplots” that may alienate casual viewers. With the critical Sunday window now open, the industry is watching closely to see if the film can pull off a major jump or if it will succumb to the stiff competition and tepid word-of-mouth.
