New Delhi, October 30, 2024: Delhi residents can now register their properties at any sub-registrar office across the city, thanks to the newly approved ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy. Approved by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, this initiative allows residents to choose any of the 22 sub-registrar offices for property registration, making the process more accessible and convenient.
Previously, citizens were required to visit a specific sub-registrar office based on their property’s location, which led to lengthy wait times at some offices and underutilization of others. “The ‘Anywhere Registration’ policy will simplify this process,” stated CM Atishi, adding, “Now, people needing property registration can visit any sub-registrar office in Delhi, removing the location-based restriction.”
Appointments can now be booked online for any of these offices, alleviating previous bottlenecks and offering flexibility to residents. According to the Delhi government, this initiative is also expected to make the registration process more transparent, reducing dependency on middlemen and allowing citizens to seek services in less crowded offices.
The government plans to monitor applications at each office, helping identify popular locations and making adjustments to meet resident needs effectively.
