Ontario [Canada], February 18: A Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, overturning on the snow-covered runway. At least 18 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals, CNN reported.

Delta Airlines confirmed the incident in a statement, assuring that there were no fatalities and that their primary focus is on assisting those affected.

“Initial reports indicate there are no fatalities, and 18 customers with injuries have been transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted,” Delta said.

Plane Overturns on Landing, Emergency Response Activated

The flight, which had 80 passengers on board, ended up upside down after a rough landing. Authorities confirmed that no one lost their life in the incident.

Following the crash, Toronto Pearson Airport suspended all Delta flights for the rest of the evening and issued travel waivers for affected passengers.

A spokesperson for the airport stated that emergency responders were quickly deployed to the scene.

“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the airport authorities wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Casualties and Medical Response

Authorities initially reported eight injuries, including one passenger in critical condition. However, later updates confirmed that 15 people sustained injuries, including a child. Most injuries were moderate to mild, and all affected individuals were receiving medical care.

Official Investigation and Press Briefing Scheduled

The cause of the crash remains unclear, and an official investigation is expected to be launched.

Toronto Pearson International Airport has scheduled a media briefing at 6:30 p.m. ET to provide further details about the crash and ongoing response efforts.
