Delta Plane Catches Fire at Orlando Airport, 282 Passengers Evacuated via Emergency Slides-Watch
Orlando, April 22, 2025:
A major scare unfolded at Orlando International Airport on Monday when a Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta caught fire on the tarmac, prompting an urgent emergency evacuation of all 282 passengers aboard. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft began taxiing toward the runway. According to CNN, citing statements from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Delta Air Lines, one of the aircraft’s two engines suddenly caught fire, causing visible flames to erupt from the tailpipe. A video captured by a passenger from the terminal shows a dramatic burst of fire from the plane’s right engine.
