New Delhi [India]: Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Friday said that he didn’t receive any letter from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena regarding AAP MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
Talking to media Delhi Speaker said, “Neither did I receive any letter from LG nor Vigilance secretary against MLA Akhilesh Tripathi. He circulated a letter in the media and this is not ethical, what is his intention behind it one he knows? LG must understand that Vidhansabha is not a political shop, this is a democratic institution.”
However, LG Saxena and Vigilance Secretary YVVJ Rajashekhar asserted that he had written to the Delhi Assembly Speaker regarding this case for granting sanction for the prosecution of Model Town MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
Giving facts about the case, the Special Vigilance Secretary wrote to the assembly secretary, “DSA may kindly be advised to examine this case objectively based upon the evidence and also keeping in view the statements under Section 164 of Cr. P.C before the Hon’ble Court and accord permission for Prosecution Sanction w/s 19 of PoC Act, 1988 with respect to FIR No. 11/22 dated 15.11.2022”
Notable, On August 22, the LG office informed that LG VK Saxena had written to the Delhi Assembly Speaker regarding this case for granting sanction for the prosecution of Model Town MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
