Donald Trump Appoints Hollywood Icons as Special Ambassadors to Revive Industry
Washington DC [US], January 17: US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Thursday the appointment of Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as Special Ambassadors for Hollywood, California. The trio will act as Special Envoys, tasked with revitalizing Hollywood and reversing its recent losses to foreign markets.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared his enthusiasm for the appointments:
“It is my honour to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California. They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to foreign countries, back—bigger, better, and stronger than ever before!”
Trump highlighted the talents of the three industry veterans, expressing confidence in their ability to guide the revival of Hollywood:
“These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood.”
The announcement follows Trump’s recent unveiling of key White House appointments ahead of his inauguration on January 20. Stanley E. Woodward will serve as Assistant to the President and Senior Counselor, while Robert Gabriel Jr. and Nicholas F. Luna have been assigned crucial roles in shaping the new administration.
Donald Trump secured a resounding victory in the US presidential elections, earning 312 electoral votes against Kamala Harris’ 226 and also winning the popular vote. Trump’s win marks him as the first Republican since George W. Bush in 2004 to secure the popular vote and the second leader in US history to serve two non-consecutive terms.
The president-elect will be sworn into office on January 20, marking the start of his second term.
