US President says investigation underway after footage shows missile near Minab school
March 10, 2026: US President Donald Trump addressed questions over reports that an American missile may have struck near a girls’ school in Minab, Iran during the ongoing regional conflict. The issue emerged after video footage circulated online appearing to show a Tomahawk missile hitting an area close to an Iranian military installation located beside the school. Responding to the reports, Trump said he had not yet reviewed the footage and warned against drawing conclusions before an investigation is completed.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said the Tomahawk missile is one of the most powerful weapons in the world and is not used exclusively by the United States. He noted that several countries purchase the missile through defence agreements with Washington and suggested that Iran could also possess such systems. When pressed about his earlier remarks indicating Iran might have been responsible for the strike, Trump said he did not yet know enough about the incident and would accept the findings once the investigation concludes.
Footage released by Mehr News Agency and examined by investigators from Bellingcat reportedly verified the strike location in Minab. According to reports, the explosion damaged part of the school building located next to a military installation. Meanwhile, Trump defended the broader US military campaign, including Operation Epic Fury launched jointly with Israel on February 28, saying the mission was aimed at countering threats in the region.
