Egypt Urges Immediate Implementation of Gaza Ceasefire and Aid Agreement
Cairo [Egypt], January 17: Egypt has called for the swift execution of the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, emphasizing the importance of adhering to its terms and timelines to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement published by Ahram Online, underlined that the agreement is a crucial step toward significantly increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Egypt urged the international community to bolster humanitarian efforts, assist Gaza in early recovery projects, and pave the way for comprehensive reconstruction. The ministry also expressed Egypt’s readiness to host an international conference to facilitate these efforts.
“The agreement is a lifeline for countless innocent Palestinian lives that have endured over 15 months of genocidal war and catastrophic humanitarian conditions,” the statement noted.
This appeal comes amidst one of the most severe humanitarian crises in Gaza’s history, with Egypt playing a pivotal role in mediating peace and fostering global cooperation.
