Elon Musk Urges Trump To Release Epstein Files, Slams Silence Amid MAGA Backlash
Washington [US], July 13: Billionaire Elon Musk has publicly called on former U.S. President Donald Trump to fulfill his campaign promise and release the files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender. Musk’s remarks came after Trump attempted to downplay discussions surrounding Epstein and asked his supporters to stop targeting his team members over the controversial case.
“Seriously. He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised,” Musk posted on X, in response to Trump’s comments.

Musk’s criticism comes amid growing backlash against the Trump administration from within his own MAGA (Make America Great Again) base. This follows a joint Justice Department and FBI memo released this week, which stated there was no Epstein “client list” and no evidence of blackmail involving high-profile individuals. The report also reaffirmed the conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in jail in 2019.
Many Trump supporters and conspiracy theorists were angered by the findings. During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump had vowed to declassify all files related to Epstein and publicly release them. The new report has sparked accusations of betrayal from the far-right, including criticism directed at Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel—both previously vocal about alleged Epstein-related conspiracies.
In an attempt to control the narrative, Trump defended his administration on his social media platform, Truth Social. “We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” he wrote, while accusing Biden officials of fabricating the memo.
Despite Trump’s efforts, many in his political base continue to push for transparency, viewing the release of any remaining Epstein-related documents as a test of Trump’s credibility and commitment to exposing alleged elite wrongdoing.
