Elon Musk Warns of Ukraine’s Frontline Collapse If This happens, Also Targets Ukrainian Oligarchs

Musk says Starlink is the backbone of Ukraine’s military communications and calls for an end to the “meat grinder” war, pushing for immediate peace.

March 9, 2025: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has once again stirred global debate with his latest comments on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, claiming that Ukraine’s entire frontline would collapse if he were to turn off Starlink, the satellite internet service widely used by Kyiv’s military.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Musk expressed his frustration over the prolonged conflict, saying he is “sickened” by the years of war that he believes Ukraine will ultimately lose.

“I literally challenged Putin to one-on-one physical combat over Ukraine, and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off,” Musk wrote.

Musk Targets Zelensky and Ukrainian Oligarchs

Musk has been highly critical of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, even calling him “evil” for pushing what he termed as a “forever war” to retain power. He suggested that Zelensky should be offered amnesty in a neutral country for a peaceful transition back to democracy in Ukraine.

In addition, Musk called for sanctions on Ukraine’s top 10 oligarchs, particularly those with mansions in Monaco, implying that they were fueling the war for personal gain.

“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” Musk wrote in response to a query about the funding behind a massive Ukrainian flag displayed near the White House.

Starlink’s Role in the Ukraine War

Musk’s Starlink satellite service has been critical to Ukraine’s war efforts, enabling military communication on the battlefield despite Russian jamming and interception attempts. Starlink has also provided internet access to civilians in war-affected areas where traditional networks have been destroyed.

Initially funded by SpaceX, the U.S. government later took over payments for Ukraine’s Starlink subscriptions, with Poland stepping in last month to continue financial support.

Musk’s Controversial Stance on the War

This is not the first time Musk has weighed in on Ukraine’s war strategy. Earlier, he stated that Ukraine’s military should accept a negotiated peace deal, warning that prolonging the war would lead to more destruction and loss.

While Musk’s remarks have sparked strong reactions worldwide, they also raise questions about the ethical and strategic implications of a private entity like Starlink holding such a decisive role in military conflicts.
