At a high-level joint press briefing in New Delhi, top commanders from the Army, Air Force, and Navy shared new operational details. The Pakistani Mirage, reportedly involved in a retaliatory strike, was successfully intercepted by India’s air defence network.
“Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and took them head-on,” said Air Vice Marshal AK Bharti, adding, “A major highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous Akash air defence system.”
The briefing was led by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai (DGMO), Air Vice Marshal Bharti (Director General Air Operations), and Vice Admiral AN Pramod (DG Naval Operations). The officials emphasized that the seamless integration of India’s tri-service assets, combined with robust government support for defence modernization, contributed to the mission’s success.
