NHAI raises annual pass cost to ₹3,075 from April 2026

March 15, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India has announced a marginal increase in the annual subscription fee for the FASTag Annual Pass. Starting April 1, 2026, the cost will rise from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075. The revision follows provisions under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 and applies to eligible non-commercial private vehicles using FASTag for toll payments.

The annual pass allows users to travel across nearly 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways across India. A single payment provides validity for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first. The scheme, introduced in August 2025, has already attracted over 56 lakh users who benefit from eliminating repeated toll payments and managing predictable travel costs.

Vehicle owners can purchase or renew the pass through the Rajmarg Yatra App or the NHAI website, with activation typically completed within two hours of payment. While frequent commuters have welcomed the pass for reducing overall travel expenses, some users have raised concerns about limited coverage at certain state-run tolls and occasional technical issues with the app.
