
Fire Breaks Out At Mahakumbh Due To Cylinder Blast, Deets Inside!
January 19, 2025: A fire broke out at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Sunday following a cylinder blast. According to Pramod Sharma, the Chief Fire Officer for the Kumbh Mela, the explosion of two LPG cylinders in Sector 19 led to a massive fire that engulfed 18 tents. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported at this time.
The official X handle of the Maha Kumbh 2025 expressed concern over the incident, reassuring the public that immediate relief and rescue operations were underway. A video shared on social media showed thick black smoke rising from the affected area. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as investigations are ongoing.
Fire tenders were quickly deployed to the scene, with 15 fire trucks working to control the blaze. Akhara Police Station In-charge Bhaskar Mishra confirmed the cylinder explosions caused the fire in the camp area.
