From 192/0 to 192/10: Bizzare UAE Women Match Against Qatar
May 11, 2025: Cricket fans witnessed a truly unprecedented moment on Saturday as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) women’s team deployed an extraordinary tactic against Qatar in the Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 held in Bangkok.

After posting a formidable 192-run total without losing a single wicket, all 10 UAE batters were retired out—a first in international cricket history.
UAE openers Esha Rohit Oza (113 off 55 balls) and Theertha Satish (74 off 42 balls) stitched a massive 192-run unbeaten partnership. However, instead of continuing or declaring the innings, the team retired out every batter—none of whom had even taken the crease.
The unusual move was strategic, not spontaneous. Rain was forecast in Bangkok, and a washed-out match would have meant shared points. By wrapping up their innings quickly, UAE aimed to bowl out Qatar and secure full points before any weather interruptions.
And it worked.
In reply, Qatar crumbled for just 29 runs, with Rizpha Emmanuel (20) being the only batter to reach double digits. UAE’s Michelle Botha (3 wickets) and Katie Thompson (2 wickets) dismantled the opposition.
