From waste to wonder: Ludhiana boy turns scraps into planes
Ludhiana (Punjab) [India]: A class 11 student from Punjab’s Ludhiana turns waste into wonder as he craftily generates planes using waste materials.
Tanishpreet Singh, a student in Ludhiana district not only makes planes using waste but also takes it to heights through his gifted skills.
His fascination for building planes, which began in the sixth grade, gradually started taking the form of a skill and pushed him to participate in competitions at the national level.
Speaking to media, Tanishpreet said, “I have been fond of technology since childhood and after watching videos from YouTube I started making planes in the sixth grade. In the beginning, some planes did not turn out well but I did not give up.”
“Ultimately in ninth grade, I was able to create a plane that flew for a while but crashed later. However, this failed attempt boosted my hopes that I could fly a plane using waste, I just needed to sharpen my craft,” he added.
The boy further mentioned that he had learned a lot about his prompt from his mentor Yadminder, a resident of Bathinda. “Initially, I made planes using cardboard but today I can produce planes from waste,” he said.
“I order the plane’s motor parts online and also try to create some myself. I want to study aeronautics further,” said the 11th grader.
Talking to media, Tanishpreet’s mother Sukhwinder Kaur Jassal said, “I work in a boutique. Apart from this, I am fond of designing Tanishpreet’s planes. I have designed some of my son’s planes.”
The proud mother stated that she accompanies her son to competitions and will keep supporting the boy in all his future endeavours.
