G2 and T1 Face Off for Redemption at EWC 2025

July 20, 2025: Compared to their early exit at MSI 2025, G2 Esports has made a huge leap forward at the League of Legends EWC 2025 (LoL EWC). Once eliminated in the Play-In stage, G2 dominated their group this time around with a flawless run and stunned fans by defeating BLG in the quarterfinals.

Although their journey was halted by Gen.G in the semifinals, G2 still showed incredible improvement against the reigning MSI champs and top Korean team.

On the other side, T1, the 2024 World Champions, find themselves in an unexpected slump. Their EWC campaign began with a shaky series against KOI, and things went downhill from there. Their semifinal loss to Anyone’s Legend, a relative newcomer, in a clean 2–0 sweep was a shocking upset few saw coming.

All this sets the stage for an intriguing third-place match between G2 and T1. Can G2 ride their momentum and take down Faker’s squad? Or will T1 bounce back and protect their legacy?
