December 30, 2024: Hollywood star Gal Gadot, best known for her role as Wonder Woman, recently opened up about a life-threatening health scare she faced during her fourth pregnancy. In a heartfelt social media post, Gadot revealed that she was diagnosed with Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT), a rare blood clot in the brain, while she was eight months pregnant with her daughter Ori earlier this year.
A Challenging Diagnosis:
In an emotional post accompanied by a hospital picture, Gadot detailed her harrowing experience. She wrote, “In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain. For weeks, I endured excruciating headaches until an MRI revealed the terrifying truth.”
The diagnosis meant immediate emergency surgery was required. In the same moment of uncertainty and fear, her daughter Ori was born. Gadot shared that Ori’s name, meaning ‘my light’, was chosen intentionally. “Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
Gratitude and Recovery:
The Wonder Woman actress expressed deep gratitude towards the medical team at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, who helped her recover. After weeks of post-surgery care, she revealed, “Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back.”
Raising Awareness About CVT:
Gadot used her platform to raise awareness about Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT), a condition that affects approximately 3 in every 100,000 pregnant women over the age of 30. She emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body and early detection, noting that CVT is treatable when diagnosed in time.
“This isn’t meant to scare anyone, but to empower. If even one person takes action for their health because of this story, it will have been worth sharing,” she concluded.
