Gautam Adani Donates Rs 10,000 Crore on Son’s Wedding

Staying true to his philosophy of “Seva Over Self,” Adani sets a remarkable precedent by prioritizing social impact over opulence.

February 8, 2025: On the occasion of his son Jeet Adani’s wedding, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, redefined the essence of celebrations by donating Rs 10,000 crore to various social causes. Guided by his philosophy, “Seva sadhana hai, seva prarthna hai aur seva parmatma hai,” Adani’s gesture emphasized community welfare over personal grandeur.

The wedding of Jeet Adani and Diva Shah, daughter of diamond trader Jaimin Shah, was held at the Belvedere Club in Ahmedabad’s Adani Shantigram township. Contrary to speculation, the ceremony was a simple and traditional Gujarati affair attended by close family and friends, with no politicians, celebrities, or business tycoons in attendance.

Adani also launched the ‘Mangal Seva’ program, which supports newly married women with disabilities by providing financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to 500 women annually. Jeet Adani and Diva Shah symbolically launched this initiative by meeting 21 divyang women and their spouses just days before the wedding.

Reflecting on the simplicity of the event, Gautam Adani shared, “We are like common people. Jeet’s wedding is a celebration of virtues and blessings, not extravagance.” This sentiment was echoed during his visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela, where he emphasized his commitment to conducting the wedding in a “simple and traditional way.”

Jeet Adani, currently serving as Director at Adani Airports, oversees six international airports and the development of a seventh in Navi Mumbai. A University of Pennsylvania alumnus, he has been instrumental in expanding the group’s aviation portfolio.
