The massive success of Dhurandhar 2 has officially spilled over into the cricket world. Following Mumbai Indians’ (MI) victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday, the locker room celebration took a hilarious turn when Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) used the film’s now-iconic dialogue to pull Jasprit Bumrah’s leg.

As team owner Nita Ambani presented Bumrah with a “Player of the Match” badge for his clinical bowling performance, SKY chimed in with the viral line: “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi?” (Didn’t you miss home, Jassi?). The joke, referencing Ranveer Singh’s intense interval block in the spy sequel, sent the entire locker room—including Mrs. Ambani—into fits of laughter.

The trend originally started in March 2026, when Bumrah’s wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, posted a meme featuring the character Pinda (Udaybir Sandhu). She used the dialogue to joke about Bumrah choosing a “boys’ night” over staying at home. Since then, the phrase has become a recurring prank for the speedster, even appearing in official MI promotional clips.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 has become a global phenomenon, recently crossing the ₹1400 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The film, starring Ranveer Singh as spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi, has officially overtaken the records of Baahubali and RRR, cementing its status as the most successful Bollywood film in history.
