Global Headlines Hail India’s ‘Measured Retaliation’ In Operation Sindoor Against Pak Terror Camps
New Delhi | May 7, 2025:
India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on terror hubs inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir drew widespread international media attention, with major publications emphasizing New Delhi’s calibrated and targeted response to the Pahalgam massacre.
Contrary to concerns of full-scale escalation between nuclear-armed neighbours, global outlets largely supported India’s narrative—that the strikes were anti-terror operations rather than acts of war.
The Indian Ministry of Defence reiterated:
“India’s actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory, targeting only terrorist infrastructure, and not Pakistani military assets.”
The strikes were a response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, including women and children, many in front of their families.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also briefed foreign envoys and global stakeholders, ensuring transparency and intelligence sharing. The pre-informed nature of the strikes to key global players was seen as a deliberate move to maintain global diplomatic goodwill while exercising the right to self-defence.
