Gujarat Titans Extend Dominance Over MI at Home with 36-Run Win in IPL 2025

Sai Sudharsan’s fiery fifty, Siraj-Prasidh’s pace assault hand GT a fourth straight Ahmedabad win against Mumbai Indians

Ahmedabad, March 30: A power-packed half-century from Sai Sudharsan and stellar pace spells by Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna powered Gujarat Titans (GT) to a commanding 36-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday in Match 10 of IPL 2025.

With this win, GT not only added two valuable points to their campaign but also continued their unbeaten streak against MI at home, taking their record to 4-0 in Ahmedabad and 4-2 overall.

⚡ GT’s First Innings: A Story of Acceleration and Collapse

Opting to field first, MI’s bowlers were taken to the cleaners early on by GT openers Shubman Gill (38) and Sai Sudharsan (63 off 41), who stitched a 78-run partnership. After Gill’s dismissal by Hardik Pandya, Jos Buttler (39) joined the flow, helping push GT to 150 in just under 16 overs.

However, the Titans’ charge toward a 200+ total was abruptly halted after Trent Boult dismissed Sudharsan in the 19th over. In a dramatic collapse, GT lost three wickets in three balls, including Rahul Tewatia (run out without facing) and Sherfane Rutherford, to end at 196/8.

Hardik Pandya led MI’s bowling effort with 2/29, supported by Boult, Chahar, Mujeeb, and Satyanarayana Raju, who chipped in with one wicket each.

🔥 MI’s Run Chase: Early Blows and Slow Collapse

Chasing 197, Rohit Sharma looked aggressive early but was bowled by Siraj in the very first over. Tilak Varma (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (48) tried to stabilize things with a 50-run stand, but GT’s bowlers kept the pressure on.

Prasidh Krishna (2/18) turned the tide in GT’s favor, dismissing Tilak and later removing Hardik Pandya. Siraj (2/34) was equally lethal, picking up two wickets, while Sai Kishore and Rabada chipped in with one each.

Despite late resistance from Naman Dhir (18)* and *Mitchell Santner (18)**, MI could only muster 160/6, falling well short by 36 runs.

🏏 Key Highlights:

  • Sai Sudharsan top-scored with a composed 63 off 41 balls
  • GT bowlers delivered a clinical performance with Siraj and Prasidh sharing 4 wickets
  • Suryakumar Yadav looked threatening with 48 off 28, but lacked support
  • GT maintained their perfect record vs MI at Ahmedabad

With this win, Gujarat Titans look poised to be strong contenders this season, while Mumbai Indians will need to regroup quickly to stay in the hunt.
