November 12, 2024: In the world of music, some talents rise above adversity to shape a legacy that inspires millions. AR Rahman, India’s highest-paid singer and globally celebrated composer, is one such figure. Charging around Rs 3 crore per song, Rahman has not only set a benchmark in the industry but has also transformed his life story from one of hardship to immense success.
Rahman’s journey began in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, where he was born into a musically inclined family. His father, RK Shekhar, composed scores for Tamil and Malayalam films.
