Yuzvendra Chahal’s four-wicket spell and a dramatic collapse from KKR hand Punjab Kings an unforgettable 16-run victory

Mullanpur, April 15: In what will be remembered as one of the most stunning results in Indian Premier League history, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defended the lowest total ever in IPL history — just 111 runs — to script a sensational 16-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

After being bowled out for a paltry 111 in just 15.3 overs — thanks to Harshit Rana’s 3/25 and support from Narine and Chakaravarthy — it seemed like another doomed outing for PBKS. But Yuzvendra Chahal turned the tide, scalping four crucial wickets, including Rinku Singh, Rahane, and Ramandeep, to lead the fightback.

KKR were cruising at one point, needing just 52 runs off 78 balls with 8 wickets in hand. However, a sensational collapse followed. Chahal’s magic, Marco Jansen’s double strikes, and Arshdeep Singh’s nerves of steel closed the match in PBKS’s favor.

The Final Blow

With 17 needed off 30 balls and Andre Russell at the crease, it looked like KKR would survive the scare. But Marco Jansen had other plans — removing Russell and sealing an unbelievable victory for PBKS.
