June 29, 2025: Success in JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) requires more than just intelligence—it demands persistence, the right strategy, and self-belief. Divyanshu, a determined student from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, proved this by cracking the JEE on his second attempt and securing admission into IIT Mandi, where he is currently pursuing a B.Tech degree.

From Biology Enthusiast to Aspiring Engineer
Divyanshu’s journey is unique. Although he had a strong interest in biology from a young age—thanks to his father who is a veterinarian—he later developed an interest in technology and engineering. While preparing for JEE, he discovered the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Bioengineering, where biology meets computation. This led him to explore a career that combines both his passions.
First Attempt at JEE in 2021: A Learning Experience
Divyanshu appeared for JEE Main and JEE Advanced in 2021 but did not achieve his desired rank. Instead of giving up, he took a drop year and used that time to re-strategize his preparation. He focused on mastering concepts, solving mock tests, and using online resources and standard books for JEE preparation.
Second Attempt in 2022: The Winning Formula

With strong dedication and a smart study plan, Divyanshu reappeared for JEE in 2022 and secured a seat at the prestigious IIT Mandi. His preparation was self-driven, relying heavily on online platforms, practice tests, and time management. During this phase, he made sacrifices—skipping festivals, social events, and time with friends—but now he believes that a healthy balance is equally important.
Looking Ahead: A Future in Computational Biology
At IIT Mandi, Divyanshu has not only found a place to study but also a platform for self-discovery and academic growth. He aims to pursue higher studies in fields like Computational Biology, Genomics, or Neuroscience, with a goal to contribute to both science and society. His journey through IIT is shaping him into a future researcher and innovator.
Divyanshu’s story is a powerful reminder that failure is not the end—it’s often the beginning of something greater when met with resilience and the right strategy.
