TDP MP Putta Mahesh Kumar among six who tested positive after police operation

March 15, 2026: A political controversy erupted after a drug raid at a farmhouse in the Moinabad near Hyderabad, where six people — including Putta Mahesh Kumar — allegedly tested positive for drugs. The operation was carried out by the anti-narcotics unit of Telangana Police after receiving information about an unauthorised private gathering at the farmhouse. Officials said 11 people were taken into custody during the raid.

According to police, officers rushed to the spot after hearing suspicious sounds and found a person carrying a firearm. One individual was immediately apprehended while another was found with empty rounds. During the operation, authorities recovered a small quantity of suspected narcotic powder and conducted medical tests on those present. Initial urine tests indicated five people had consumed drugs, while later blood sample examinations reportedly confirmed that six individuals had tested positive. Among them were former Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and several businessmen.

Police officials said the group included public representatives and businesspersons, and all those involved have been handed over to local authorities for further investigation. The raid was carried out by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), and officials stated that detailed medical reports are still awaited as the probe continues.
