“I Am Saif Ali Khan”: Auto Driver’s Startling Realisation After Rushing Injured Passenger to Hospital

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in an apparent burglary at his Mumbai residence; an auto driver recalls the gripping moments.

January 18, 2025, Mumbai: An ordinary night turned extraordinary for auto driver Bhajan Singh Rana when he found himself rushing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to the hospital. The 54-year-old actor, who was stabbed multiple times in an apparent burglary at his residence, owes his swift medical attention to Rana’s quick response.

Recalling the incident, Rana narrated how a woman frantically flagged down his auto near Satguru Niwas, Saif Ali Khan’s residential building. “She came running, shouting, ‘rickshaw, rickshaw, stop!’ I had no idea who the injured man was, but I could see the urgency in her voice,” he told NDTV.

The auto driver admitted that he was initially apprehensive, sensing something unusual. “He was wearing a white shirt soaked in blood. A child and a young man accompanied him. I asked if I should head to Holy Family or Lilavati Hospital. He instructed me, ‘Take me to Lilavati,’” Rana said.

It was only after reaching the hospital and calling the staff that the passenger revealed his identity. “He told me, ‘I am Saif Ali Khan.’ It was then that I realized I had transported the Bollywood star,” the auto driver shared.

Saif Ali Khan was rushed into emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. Doctors later confirmed that the actor is “out of danger.”

When asked about Kareena Kapoor’s presence during the commotion, Rana said he didn’t notice her. The focus was on ensuring Saif reached the hospital in time.

Saif Ali Khan, a celebrated Bollywood actor and son of Indian cricket legend Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, is known for iconic films like Dil Chahta Hai and the Netflix series Sacred Games.

This incident highlights the unexpected heroes of everyday life—people like Bhajan Singh Rana, whose quick action made all the difference.
