“When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason,” Yograj said during the interview. “My wife, Yuvi’s mother, wanted me to question Kapil. I took my pistol and went to his house in Sector 9. Kapil came out with his mother. I abused him and told him, ‘Because of you, I’ve lost a friend, and you’ll pay for it.’ I wanted to put a bullet through his head, but I didn’t because of his pious mother.”

Disillusionment with Cricket

Following this incident, Yograj decided to give up cricket and focus on his son Yuvraj Singh’s career instead. “That was the moment I decided I would not play cricket. Yuvi will play,” he added.

Yograj also accused former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, the chief selector at the time, of conspiring against him. He claimed Bedi had personal biases against him, stemming from his association with Sunil Gavaskar.

“Bishan Singh Bedi didn’t want me on the team. He thought I was Sunil Gavaskar’s man because I was playing cricket in Mumbai. I never forgave him. The man died on his bed,” Yograj remarked bitterly.
