Jerusalem [Israel], December 3: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Israeli Air Force (IAF) jets conducted extensive airstrikes Monday night, targeting Hezbollah terrorists, dozens of rocket and missile launchers, and critical infrastructure across Lebanon.
Among the targets was the missile launcher in southern Lebanon’s Ra’ez region, responsible for two rockets fired at Mount Dov in northern Israel earlier in the day. The IDF stated that the strikes were a direct response to the attack, which violated the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
“Tonight’s firing toward the State of Israel constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement,” the IDF said in a statement. “Israel demands that the relevant authorities in Lebanon uphold the ceasefire understandings and prevent Hezbollah from engaging in hostile activities from Lebanese territory. Israel remains committed to the terms of the ceasefire but will respond decisively to any aggression.”
The two Hezbollah-fired missiles landed in open areas near Mount Dov, causing no casualties or damage, according to the IDF. This incident marked the first missile barrage since the ceasefire came into effect.
The airstrikes underline Israel’s resolve to counter any threats from Hezbollah, a group it considers a significant destabilizing force in the region. The situation continues to highlight the fragile nature of the ceasefire and ongoing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.
