IND VS BANG : Ashwin-Jadeja Duo Helps India Win By 280 Runs

In a remarkable performance, India secured a 280-run victory over Bangladesh in the first Test match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, thanks to the exceptional bowling of the spin duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

India began the day needing to take six wickets, with Bangladesh requiring 357 runs to win.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the standout performer, claiming 6 wickets for 88 runs in his 21 overs, demonstrating his ability to exploit the spin-friendly conditions.

Ravindra Jadeja supported him well, taking 3 wickets for 58 runs in 5.1 overs, including two maidens.

Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with one wicket for just 24 runs in his 10 overs.

Bangladesh started at 194/4 at drinks, with Najmul Hossain Shanto (64) and Shakib Al Hasan (25) at the crease. Ashwin broke the partnership by dismissing Shakib Al Hasan for 25. Litton Das followed soon after, getting out for just 1 run, bowled by Jadeja.

The Bangladeshi batting lineup faltered after the dismissal of Shanto, ultimately getting bowled out for 234 runs in 62.1 overs.
