Dubai International Cricket Stadium witnessed an electrifying final as India defeated New Zealand by four wickets, successfully chasing 252 in 49 overs to win the Champions Trophy 2025.

India’s innings got off to a strong start, led by Rohit Sharma (76 off 83), who dominated the powerplay alongside Shubman Gill (31 off 50). However, a quick collapse in the middle overs, including the dismissals of Virat Kohli (1), Shreyas Iyer (48), and Axar Patel (29), put pressure on the chase.

With KL Rahul (34) and Hardik Pandya (18) steering the innings*, India needed 36 runs off 35 balls when Hardik fell. But Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja (9)* held their nerves to take India past the target, securing victory with six balls to spare.
Batting first, New Zealand posted 251/7 in 50 overs, thanks to a fighting knock from Michael Bracewell (53 off 40). Daryl Mitchell (63) and Rachin Ravindra (37) provided stability, but India’s spin attack turned the game.
Varun Chakravarthy (2/45) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) led India’s charge, restricting New Zealand’s batters in the middle overs. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with crucial wickets.
